Super awesome facility, the staff is very friendly and available to be informative. On top of all this you can actually touch the planes and get in a few of them depending on availability by paying a few extra bucks. Those few extra bucks just go into the planes btw so it's a win-win for everybody. I highly recommend stopping by here. You will be super impressed.
On our way to the Kennedy Space Center, we saw the small sign announcing this Museum. Curious, and thinking it would be a short stop, we made a U-turn and drove in. Well, 2.5 hours later and we had to leave to meet up with family - but this was a fascinating place full of well-restored airplanes from WWW I to the present! The volunteer restorers dedicated to this museum are no amateurs! besides seeing their restored aircraft, a volunteer and knowledgeable guide will take you through the huge hangars filled with airplanes. and also to where they work - fascinating! I highly recommend this stop - and the gift shop is full of great gifts - which will help fund more restorations. ...and Volunteers -
An excellent collection of memorable aircraft and staffed by been there done it and got the T-shirt veterans. Love it. Third time I have been there. Highly recommended.
thank you for your work!
Passed through here on the way to the Kennedy Space Center, ended up staying for 3-4 hours and skipped the space center. I know nothing of planes and wasn't interested initially until I met the very nice veterans/tour guides talking about their stories and accomplishments with the planes on display. Very in depth tour with tons of personal stories from veterans who've actually flown those planes made for a very interesting afternoon. Highly recommend to anyone passing by!
Saw the sign on our way to the Kennedy Space Center and called in on our way back. This museum is exactly what you'd expect - lots of military aircraft from WW1 era biplanes up to an F16. The tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable about everything and opened up hatches and compartments on planes as we walked around to show off their inner workings. We spent about 90 minutes here, well worth the $20 dollar admission.
